DonorDrive wins three American Web Design Awards

DonorDrive News July 27, 2017 By Kevin Wolfe

At DonorDrive, we’re proud of the site designs we create for our clients. We’re also honored to announce for the third year in a row, our Interactive Design Team won multiple American Web Design Awards from Graphic Design USA Magazine.

Amy Gregory won for her design of Children’s Miracle Network HospitalsMy Miracle Birthday site. CMN Hospitals, like most organizations, has been seeking ways to make DIY campaigns resonate better with their supporters. My Miracle Birthday resonates with everybody, because as Amy notes: “Everyone has a birthday. It’s probably the most commonly requested DIY campaign.” CMN Hospitals challenged us to create a fresh, simple and engaging experience that encourages supporters to ask friends to donate in lieu of birthday gifts, without losing sight of the real focus — healing sick kids.

Ben Steinbrunner won for Jason’s Connection. The goal of the site is to connect those living with disabilities and health diagnoses to the resources and community they need. Ben notes: “In addition to online resources, site visitors need to connect with local resources, such as doctors, service organizations and advocacy. We created an advanced search that filters resources by keywords, needs, diagnosis, disabilities and location.” Jason’s Connection is a curated site, so it was important to offer readers an easy way to submit their own recommendations, resources and providers for consideration.

One of our newest team members, Holly Underwood, received an award for a refresh of CMN Hospital’s Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend site. Participants visit the site to fundraise for CMN Hospitals and get event information. Holly says: “We looked at the traffic for their site and found the most visited page provided information about the different courses: 2K, 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. We created an elegant solution to display this information on the homepage so participants could find it without having to search for it.” Matching the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend site with Disney branding was also an important consideration.

Congratulations to CMN Hospitals, Jason‘s Connection, Amy, Ben and Holly.
