DonorDrive’s roots stretch all the way back to 1997. The digital agency, then known as Global Cloud, set up shop in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Founders Todd Levy and Paul Ghiz designed and built custom websites for their clients, including companies such as P&G and ADM, and nonprofits like United Way Cincinnati and NFL Alumni.
Global Cloud’s services quickly expanded beyond website design with the development of forward-thinking solutions such as MiCenter, a custom project management and digital agency ERP system, released in 2000.
The company’s client base began to shift more towards the nonprofit space in the early 2000s. Global Cloud built over 20 custom applications for its nonprofit clients, including early integrations with Facebook and Twitter, and custom peer-to-peer software for both Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International and American Foundation For Suicide Prevention.
In 2007, Global Cloud shifted the majority of its resources to the development of its own fundraising software, culminating with the release of DonorDrive Peer-to-Peer Fundraising software in 2008.
To support its growing number of international clients and their constituents, DonorDrive went multilingual in 2009.
DonorDrive unveiled the industry’s first Fundraising Motivation Engine® in 2013, giving nonprofit staff a personal, automated way to communicate with and coach their constituents.
In 2016 DonorDrive developed an integration with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack, and pioneered Event Insights, giving event staff a visual way to instantly track key event metrics and trends.
Today, DonorDrive employs our expertise in fundraising, online marketing, and design to help our clients raise awareness and funds for their missions. We serve nonprofits throughout North America and Australia as we process donations from over 120 countries.
Our initial staff of 10 has grown to more than five times that size, supporting nonprofits around the globe, and giving fundraisers the chance to become the hero of their own story and change the world around them.
