Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum Conference is this year's must-attend for fundraisers

DonorDrive News February 15, 2017 By Kevin Wolfe

This year the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum Conference (formerly Run Walk Ride) has their 10th anniversary. As the largest conference supporting peer-to-peer fundraising, this event has helped well over a thousand organizations better their staff at fundraising and helped them raise untold millions more dollars for their causes through peer-to-peer. We're proud to be a long-term sponsor of this event, bringing knowledge and resources that will benefit their mission to each nonprofit. With the conference constantly growing, each year more new nonprofits attend. For newbies and those considering coming, here's a quick guide to the conference.

What organizations attend?

More than 175 organizations will be in attendance, including most major players in the peer-to-peer fundraising space. To give you an idea of the spectrum of nonprofits attending this year, here are a few of our DonorDrive clients that are coming:

  • Doctors Without Borders
  • MADD
  • MDA
  • Mercy Corps
  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
  • Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
  • Covenant House International
  • Four Diamonds
  • Maine Cancer Foundation
  • Morris Animal Foundation
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness
  • National Psoriasis Foundation

Focused content tracks introduced

In an effort to serve this broad spectrum of staff from organizations, programming at the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum Conference this year has been bucketed into experience level and program type. Levels include Senior Leader Track, Skill-Building Track and Newcomer Track. There are also summits that focus on program type and two DonorDrive clients will be speaking at those: Kate Nare, Digital Marketing Program Manager for World Vision will be leading at the DIY Fundraising Summit and Tracy Earll, National Director of the Hemophilia Walk Program will be leading at the Proprietary Program Summit. There's a complete program list if you'd like to learn more.

Join us for a special session on Google Grants

On Wednesday morning DonorDrive is offering the pre-conference session "Drive Event Participation and Fundraising with Google Ad Grants." DonorDrive Client CMN Hospitals is having great success with the $120,000 that Google's grant offers them annually and your organization can too.  Anne Baum, Search Marketing and Analytics Lead at DonorDrive (who manages the grants for CMN Hospitals) will be leading this session March 1st at 9:30 am. It's well worth arriving early for this session as Google's grant can mean a huge boost to your advertising and marketing budget. Seating is limited, so please register soon.

The best networking opportunity, period

From 11 am to Noon Wednesday (just before the start of the conference) there's a Pre-Conference Speed Networking session. Don't miss this one. It's your chance to meet up with your peers from every size of organization, share your successes and get first-hand advice from staff who've been through it all before. Some attendees value this as the most useful part of the conference. And if you strike up a great alliance, from Noon to 1 pm, the conference will foot the bill for lunch for you and your new friend.

Our scholarship winner

Each year we offer the DonorDrive Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum Conference Scholarship to cover costs for a staffer at a deserving organization to attend. This year the scholarship goes to Megan Cammarata Special Events Manager of The Summit Center. Megan hopes to use the knowledge she gains at the conference to turn their $350,000 walk into a $1 Million walk. (Check our blog and we'll keep you posted about next year's scholarship.)

Our Twitter contest

Each year at lunch on Thursday we have a lively Twitter contest. With always inspiring entries, this year we're asking attendees to tell us how one of their supporters gave a damn and did an amazing compassion act for the organization. The best story wins an iPad Mini for the supporter and an iPad Mini for the attending staffer who shares it.

Visit us at the DonorDrive booth

We hope you'll stop by our booth to say hi and talk fundraising. You share your stories with us and we'll share some great swag for you, like a DonorDrive shirt.

Since its start a decade ago, Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum Conference has been the must-attend conference for organizations that are growing through peer-to-peer fundraising. We hope you have a chance to go and learn at this amazing event on March 1st and 2nd. There's still time to register
